Wonderful Private Capitol Reef National Park Tour What an incredible way to visit and see Capitol Reef National Park. It was my first time in the area and this private tour was such a delight. Jason did a fantastic job driving and guiding us through the park and exploring various sites. (I would not have felt comfortable driving on my own and maneuvering the dirt backroads!) Jason was super accommodating and flexible with stops. He was very knowledgeable about the national park, geological features and history of the area. I had a really fun day and learned so much. Best way to Experience Capitol Reef! This tour is the only way to truly experience Capitol Reef National Park and the surrounding area! There is no way we would have been able to physically or  confidently navigate the 4x4 backroards by ourselves in our own vehicle, so we were so happy to have had a private guide to guide to take us there and provide such a memorable experience! I felt that I was in safe hands with Jason as he is an excellent navigator/driver and truly knows these roads like the back of his hand. If you are looking for an expert to show you the way, do all the technical driving in an outfitted vehicle, and tell you all about the history, geography and answer and question you may have, look no further than taking a tour with Waterpocket Adventure Company! Great investment to maximize quality of the experience in Capital Reef area! Interesting 1/2 day private tour to Cathedral Valley. I was traveling alone from Florida through the “big five” national parks in Utah. I had taken several small group tours while in Moab, but there was another couple or party of three with me in the car so they were not private tours. I was looking for something like that at Capital Reef, but as it’s not as well known there is not that kind of demand there. This made the tour by far the most expensive one I took on my trip, as I paid the full price for only one person. However, my itinerary only had one night at Capital Reef so wanted to make the best use of my time so decided to go ahead and splurge. Soooooo glad I did!!! Jason takes a lot of pride in his craft, and gave me an incredible tour of this very beautiful and interesting area. I was originally hoping to take the afternoon tour the day I arrived to the area so that I could integrate his night time stargazing tour. Unfortunately, a snowstorm hit that day (in mid-October!). So had to postpone until the next morning. We saw the Temples of the Sun, Moon and Stars, the glass mountain (wild!), lava dikes, gypsum sink hole and even some dinosaur fossils. The scenery we drove through to get to and from the valley was also so beautiful. Really great day. Also enjoyed some excellent hot tea, and was offered snacks. I am hoping to get back to the area again, as Capital Reef has so much to offer. Definitely could be a destination for a several days trip in and of itself. Jason is so knowledgeable about the area. He offers other trips as well, Goblin Valley, Burr trail, etc. He can put together dining experiences in these remote areas! I hope to get back there for a trip with friends, plan ahead with Jason to put together some amazing experiences! Definitely stargazing. Jason has also taught photography so is a great resource person to help with photos. The tour was a great investment, as there is no way that I could have or would have seen so much on my own. These areas are very rugged, and you need a 4x4 vehicle for a lot of places. Definitely recommend for solo travelers, families, friends, couples, anyone. Best Guide Ever! With snow in the forecast, our arrival time questionable, and lack of secure booking ability at the location we were staying at, Jason was more than accommodating with us! Wonderful tour of Waterpocket Fold/Burr Trail We thoroughly enjoyed Jason's tour of this beautiful area.  Jason was extremely knowledgeable and informative, and tailored the experience to our interests and to our capabilities as seniors.  In addition to the gorgeous scenery, he took us to see dinosaur bones, and oyster shells from when Capitol Reef was an inland sea.  He extended the tour at no charge to include some star-gazing time and was a charming dinner companion.  He even gave us some tips on what to see the next day while returning to Salt Lake City for our flight home. One of our best guides ever!  Cathedral Valley 4WD Tour My husband and I, along with our two friends, took a half day 4WD tour of Cathedral Valley with Jason.  He was extremely accommodating and respectful of our needs and special situations.  Jason was an excellent guide and very familiar with the history and geology of the area.  We couldn't have been more pleased and would heartily recommend doing a tour with him.  He was very easy to talk to and knew just where to take the best photos. Excellent tour and guide of Capital Reef My husband and I took the private tour with Waterpocket. Jason was on time and picked us up at our hotel. The tour was not rushed at all and we found Jason to be respectful, friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable of the area and geology. He stopped along the way to let us get out, take pictures and enjoy the beautiful sights. Cathedral Valley is truly a wonder and well worth the time. Snacks and water were provided as well. Journey to the Temples of the Sun, Moon, and Stars This 5-hour trip took us through some absolutely amazing country with a wide variety of geological formations.  Our guide, Jason, was very familiar with this area and very knowledgeable of the geology and history of the area.  This was a very enjoyable journey through a unique region of the country. Great, Private Capitol Reef Tour - Ask for Kevin! We had an amazing half day tour with Kevin! We were there after the monsoon the previous week, so he recommended we drive the upper Cathedral Valley. It was an awe-inspiring morning - visiting natural monuments, vistas and 4x4 driving through back country. We learned so much from Kevin about the park and area. He was kind, fun and so easy to be with. I'd recommend this tour for couples, families or friends looking for a more personalized experience. Jason Willard offers a lifetime of expertise in all aspects of a Capitol Reef tour. His remarkable knowledge includes not only where to go and how to safely get there but includes as much of the fascinating history and geology of the area as you would like to know.
